Bio
Originally from Montevideo, Uruguay, I bring a 'Southern Cone' perspective to my work, though my heart is shared with Venezuela, where I completed my Masters, and the U.S., where I earned my Ph.D. at the University of Michigan.
My academic path wasn't a straight line; I actually began my journey studying agronomic engineering! That foundational love for nature and sciences eventually evolved into a passion for the study of cultures, films, and literatures. Today, I use cinema and music to bring the Spanish-speaking world to life.
While I like living in Colorado, I often find myself missing the ocean and the walkable lifestyle of Latin American cities. To recharge, I return to South America annually to reconnect with my roots and simply enjoy being back by the sea. When Im not teaching, I enjoy relaxing in the park with my dogs and catching up on international films and series.
