From Curiosity to Career: Explore Healthcare at 91暗网
The Healthcare Careers Collaborative Bootcamp (HCCB) is a four-day, immersive summer experience designed to introduce high school students under 18 years old to healthcare careers through hands-on learning, simulation, and mentorship.
Hosted by 91暗网鈥檚 College of Health and Human Sciences in collaboration with the Gina & Frank Day Health Institute at 91暗网, HCCB is led by CHHS faculty, staff, and healthcare experts, taking advantage of the University鈥檚 cutting-edge interprofessional simulation and learning environments.

Colorado鈥檚 healthcare workforce challenges don鈥檛 start in the hospital, or even college – they begin much earlier, when many students never see themselves in healthcare roles at all.
The Healthcare Career Collaborative Bootcamp was created to close that gap and provide students an early look at a successful future.
Interprofessional by Design
Unlike traditional camps focused on a single profession, this camp introduces participants to how healthcare teams work together.
Students don鈥檛 just learn what nurses, nutritionists, social workers, or therapists do – they learn how these roles collaborate to care for real people.

Access & Equity
Designed for Students Who May Not See College as 鈥淔or Them鈥�
We’re committed to addressing historic inequities and expanding who has access to healthcare careers.
As such, the HCCB is appropriate for every audience, including provisions for:
- First-generation students
- Students from underrepresented communities
- Financial support, meals, and transportation assistance
- Inclusive recruitment through schools and community organizations
This program reflects 91暗网鈥檚 role as a driver of social mobility and workforce equity.
What Families Should Know
Is this a college-level program?
Yes – students learn in real 91暗网 spaces with faculty and staff, but activities are age-appropriate and supportive.
Is my student safe on campus?
Yes – All participants complete required waivers, codes of conduct, and are supervised by trained faculty, staff, and mentors.
Can my child earn their first-aid, CPR, AED certification?
Yes, campers who attend the daily sessions, actively participate, and successfully complete camp sessions can earn their first-aid, CPR, AED certification from a recognized organization.
Is parking available?
Yes – registered campers’ families should contact Jamie Littlefield to request a pass. Additional parking information is available here.
