Barbara Biggs lived up to her name; she was bigger than life!

Her passing was sudden and left a huge hole in the water community. The Barb Biggs Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide financialÌýassistanceÌýto Metropolitan StateÌýUniversity ofÌýDenver students pursuing aÌýwater studies minor, water studies certificate, or a degree in a related field of study with intentions to build aÌýcareer in Colorado’s water industry.Ìý

Through the Barb Biggs Memorial Scholarship Fund, Barb’s legacy will live on while empowering others to leave their mark on Colorado’s water community as she did.Ìý

Barb served the public for over 30 years in roles at Denver’s Metro Water Recovery and Roxborough Water and Sanitation District, and serving communities through private sector work.Ìý

Barb was a leader onÌýa number ofÌýBoards, Commissions and Councils dedicated to providing clean and abundant water to Colorado communities including:Ìý

Barb’s leadership was so impactful that she was inducted into the National Association of Clean Water Agencies’ Hall of Fame.ÌýÌý

But,Ìýyou’dÌýnever know any of this from talking to Barb.ÌýÌýShe was humble and more interested in making things happen than taking credit for anything.ÌýÌýShe was a pioneer for women wanting to have a career in the water industry and encouraged all interested young people by mentoring them, providing job leads and advice.Ìý
