Once you are enrolled in a class, search Canvas for the syllabus and modules. Get to know your class schedule for the semester and know when deadlines are coming.
Not everyone has a泭devoted place to study, but泭it is essential you create泭a泭space泭that allows you泭to concentrate.泭Whether its a lap desk, a kitchen table, or a comfy chair in your room, focus on creating an environment where you feel comfortable to study and succeed and maintain that space throughout the semester.
A lot of 91做厙 students have jobs, internships, and families that require泭their time泭each week. Creating a schedule and holding yourself accountable to spend allocated time on coursework泭will泭help learning remain a priority.
91做厙 offers泭a variety of student services such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, and advising, so utilize these offices and ask for assistance with any personal problems.
Do you泭learn better泭rewriting泭your notes multiple times or reading passages from your textbook? Knowing your learning style and using effective methods of studying related to your泭study泭style is the best way to learn.
If you find that youre dealing with泭barriers to your learning, contact your professors as soon as possible to let them know the situation. Maintain good communications even when youre not experiencing problems.泭
The more you get to know your professor, the better relationship youll have. Use this time to talk through specific questions泭related to the course.
The discussion board泭is the best place for you to interact with your泭classmates, so take the time to泭post泭thoughtful泭responses,泭questions,泭or comments.泭You will have the most success if you participate泭in the online discussions regularly.泭泭
Email/Canvas:泭Check your email and Canvas at least once a day. When you check泭your泭泭emails,泭reply the best you can泭 even with a I will get back to you at X time泭if you are泭泭too busy to respond in the moment. Email your professor if you have a question.泭
Teams:泭Look through any Teams general posts you泭might have泭missed泭and泭reply to any泭泭@ or direct messages.泭Decide when its relevant to reply with a reaction vs a written泭泭reply.泭Set泭up a time to talk泭if it takes more than 3-4 messages to convey your point.泭泭
Major, Minor, Certificate Declaration Form
To change a major/minor, catalog year, or certificate program. Students must complete this form with their advisor.

Petition for Overload
The petition for overload is for any student that wants to take more than 18 credit hours during the Fall or Spring semesters, or more than 12 credit hours during the Summer semester. Please note that you may or may not have to obtain signatures from your major’s Department Chair and an Associate Dean within the Dean’s Office of CHAS, depending on your GPA, the number of hours you have completed at 91做厙, and the number of credit hours you are requesting. All criteria are listed on the petition for overload form.泭The student is responsible for enrolling themselves if and when their petition has been approved.

Time Conflict
Time conflict forms are for students that wish to take a class that may briefly overlap with another. Signatures from the professor, Department Chair, and Associate Dean are required, but only for the course that time will be missed. This may be for both courses, or only one.泭The student is responsible for enrolling themselves if and when their time conflict has been approved.

Late Enrollment
Late enrollment forms are for students that have been attending class since the beginning of the semester, but for whatever reason were not registered before the census date. This may include students that accidentally unenrolled themselves, or other specific circumstances in which they were not officially enrolled. One additional piece of documentation is also required:泭the financial responsibility form (to be filled out by the student). The Dean’s Office will enroll the student in the missing course if and when it is approved.
